What is a mobile notary?
A mobile notary travels to you instead of asking you to come to an office. Pape Signature Solutions serves Greater Houston, meeting clients at homes, offices, hospitals and care facilities, including evenings and weekends.
How much does a notary cost in Texas?
Texas sets statutory maximums for the notarial act: $10 for the first signature, $1 for each additional signature, and $25 extra for an online notarization. Travel, printing and after-hours fees are separate, are not capped by the state, and are agreed with you in advance.
What is a loan signing agent?
A loan signing agent is a notary trained to walk borrowers through a complete mortgage package — presenting each document, directing where to sign and initial, and returning the package on time. Title companies and lenders hire signing agents so closings do not fail on a missed signature.
Can a notary tell me what my document means?
No. A Texas notary who is not an attorney may not give legal advice, explain the effect of a document, or choose which notarial act applies. Those questions belong to the party who issued the document or to an attorney. What a notary can do is verify identity, administer the oath, and complete the certificate correctly.
What documents can be notarized remotely in Texas?
Most can — powers of attorney, affidavits, deeds and loan documents are all commonly notarized online in Texas. Texas excludes wills, codicils, testamentary trusts, which must be signed in person.
Do you offer service in Spanish?
Yes — appointments and documents can be handled in Spanish. Note that a notary in Texas is not the same as a notario público in Latin America: a Texas notary is not an attorney and cannot give legal advice.
