Terms of Service

We are a mobile notary public and certified loan signing agent commissioned in the State of Texas. We travel to you to witness signatures and perform notarial acts: acknowledgments, jurats, oaths and affirmations, copy certifications, loan signings, and — where available — remote online notarization.

A notary public may not give legal advice or choose the notarial certificate for you. If you are unsure which act your document needs, please ask the issuing party or an attorney.

A notary also may not prepare your documents, explain their legal effect, or advise you on whether to sign. If you need that, please speak to an attorney or to whoever issued the document.

A notarization is a legal act, not a formality. Texas requires us to refuse in certain situations, and we will — even at the appointment, even after travelling to you. We are obliged to decline if:

• The signer is not physically present, or cannot be identified to the standard the law requires.
• The signer does not appear to understand what they are signing, or does not appear to be signing willingly.
• The document is incomplete, or has blank spaces that should be filled in.
• We would have a personal or financial interest in the transaction.
• We have reason to believe the transaction is unlawful or fraudulent.

If we decline for one of these reasons, the travel fee still applies — we came, and the time was spent. The notarial fee does not.

Texas caps what a notary may charge for the notarial act itself. We may charge less than the cap, never more. As of this update, an acknowledgment is $10 for the first signature, and an online notarization adds up to $25. The current schedule is on our fees page.

Travel, printing, after-hours and urgency fees are not notarial fees. Texas does not regulate them. They are agreed with you before the appointment is confirmed, and we will not add charges you have not already seen.

• An appointment is confirmed once you have accepted the quoted price and a time.
• Cancel or reschedule with reasonable notice and there is no charge.
• If we have already travelled to you, or already printed a loan package, the travel and printing fees apply.
• If we have to cancel, you owe nothing, and we will help you find another time.

Where offered, remote online notarization is performed under Texas law. You may be anywhere; the notary remains physically in Texas, as required. Identity is verified by an approved third-party provider and the session is recorded and retained.

Texas does not permit wills, codicils, testamentary trusts to be notarized remotely. We are happy to handle those in person.

• Bring valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification for every signer.
• Have the complete document ready, with nothing left blank that should be filled in.
• Do not sign in advance unless the act specifically calls for it — for most acts you must sign in front of us.
• Arrange any witnesses the document requires, or tell us in advance so we can help.
• Give us accurate access details for hospitals, care facilities and secured buildings.

We carry errors and omissions insurance and are bonded as Texas requires. Our responsibility is limited to performing the notarial act properly. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, validity or legal effect of your document, nor for a third party’s decision to accept or reject it.

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any single engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement.

We keep the records Texas requires, for the periods it requires. Note that record book entries are public information — see our privacy policy, which explains this in full.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Harris County, Texas.
